The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of the North East Region for their overwhelming support during the 2024 general election. In what was a challenging election for the party—marked by significant voter apathy among its traditional support base and a loss of over two million votes nationwide—the North East Region stood out as a notable exception. As the home region of the NPP’s 2024 Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, it was the only region where the party recorded a growth in votes.
